Hi! I'm a PhD student in the ECE Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I work in the Perception and Decision Laboratory with Prof. Yi Ma. My research interests include computer vision, machine learning, and signal processing. Currently, my research is focused on retrieving structured data (e.g., low-rank matrices, sparse vectors) from corrupted observations, and applying these techniques to real-world problems in computer vision. This work is closely related to the relatively new area of sparse representations, or more popularly called compressed sensing. Please browse the links to the left for more information on my research and publications.

Prior to attending UIUC, I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, both in Electrical Engg., from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2006.
