| Allen Yang Yang was born in China in 1978. He
received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Science from the Special Class
of Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China
(USTC). He received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2003,
and another M.S. degree in Mathematics in 2005, both from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate
in the Department of ECE, UIUC. His research is focused on Algebraic and Statistical Subspace Segmentation, Multiple View Geometry, Motion Segmentation, Image Analysis, and Visually-Guided Robot Navigation. His work has been supported by various funding sources, including the UIUC Computational Science and Engineering Center Fellowship and Beckman Institute AI/Cognitive Science Fellowship. He received Best Undergraduate Thesis Award and Distinguished Graduate Award for his undergraduate work from USTC, Henry Ford II Scholar Award for his master's research from the College of Engineering, UIUC, and the C.R. Allen Distinguished International Student Award from the Department of ECE, UIUC. He holds one US patent for his work in Honda Research, CA. |
