  Wonderful violin books

Charles de Beriot, Violin Method for Beginners, MT262 B47M44.
Charles de Beriot, Method for Violin, MT 262B47M45 v.2. (De Beriot's method is forever second to none.)
Maia Bang, Maia Bang Violin Method.
Pierre Baillot, The Art of the Violin, MT 262 B25A72. (The fingering is out of date, sort of. It tells you how people played Beethoven in his time)
Robert Gerle, The art of practising the violin, MT262 G46A7. (It is good.)
Ivan Galamian, Principles of Violin Playing & Teaching787.107 G13p.
Dominic Gill, The Book of The Violin, Q.787.1 B644. A comprehensive violin history.

Musical Notes

Rodolphe Kreutzer, 42 Studies for violin solo. (The classical violin studies title)
Federigo Fiorillo, 36 Etudes ou Caprices : violin solo. MT265F56 OP.3U5 (An advanced companion to Kreutzer's 42 studies)

Best Classic Music in My Collection

Nikolaj Znaider plays Ysase and Wieniawski.
What I can say is it is simply the best. Best player and best Guarneri del Gesu violin you can find.
Ivan Moravec plays Chopin Norturnes.
The CD if you want to understand Norturnes or understand Moravec.
Vengerov plays Ysase.
Personally, I think Znaider is better than Vengerov. But it is still great to have two best CDs in the collection for a comparison.
Dvorak No.9, "From the New World".
Jascha Horenstein conducts Royal Phiharmonic, 1962. Chesky Records.
Beethoven No. 6, "Pastoral"
Bernstein conducts Vienna Philharmonic, 1978, DG. (Don't buy Bernstein's No. 9! )
Chicago, the Musical.
Perlman & Ashkenazy play Brahms violin sonata No.3, Op. 108.
The most joyful one of Brahms' three sonatas, which is unusual for Brahms, but good for me.
Kreisler plays Kreisler
This is a valuable monotone CD of the great violinist and composer.
Saint-Saens, Dutoit conducts Philharmonia Orchestra, violin Kyung Wha Chung
A Splendid CD from Decca.
Holst, "The Planets Suite". Handley conducts Royal Philharmonic, 1993.
Tune to Mars and Jupiter if we want to burn your Hi-Fi.
